Liverpool vs. Manchester City Prediction, Picks and Projected Lineups for Today

Liverpool vs Man City Picks in Summary

  • Manchester City Moneyline (+130)
  • Erling Haaland Anytime Goalscorer (+105)

Liverpool welcome Manchester City to Anfield in a highly anticipated showdown for an 11:30 a.m. ET Sunday clash.

Manchester City have enjoyed a perfect start to the 2026-27 Premier League campaign, winning all five of their matches while outscoring opponents 13-5. Liverpool haven't lost a league match, either, although they've settled for three draws while scoring just seven goals.

With City looking to maintain their position atop the Premier League table and Liverpool hoping to hand the visitors their first league defeat, today’s matchup should be an entertaining affair.

Man City vs. Liverpool Picks, Prediction

Manchester City Moneyline (+130)

Manchester City have been the Premier League's most impressive team through five matches, and there's reason to believe they can maintain their perfect record against Liverpool — even on the road.

City have scored 13 goals through five league contests, averaging 2.6 per match. They've also conceded just five goals, giving them a plus-eight goal differential.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have scored seven times while allowing four goals. Although the Reds have been solid defensively, their offensive production hasn't been nearly as impressive as City's.

The visitors also enter this matchup having won both Premier League meetings with Liverpool last season, including a 2-1 victory at Anfield.

City's superior attacking production and strong early-season form make them my preferred side.

Erling Haaland Anytime Goalscorer (+105)

Erling Haaland has gotten off to an excellent start to the Premier League campaign, and he's an appealing option in Sunday's anytime goalscorer market.

Through five league appearances, Haaland has scored five goals on 20 shots, with 10 of those attempts finding the target. That works out to 4.0 shots and 2.0 shots on target per match, illustrating his consistent involvement in Manchester City's attack.

Haaland has also scored in four of City's five Premier League matches this season, making him one of the league's most reliable goalscorers.

Liverpool have been excellent defensively of late, recording three consecutive league clean sheets. However, they haven't faced an attacking unit as productive as City's during that stretch.

City's 13 league goals are nearly twice Liverpool's total, and Haaland has accounted for 38.5% of the visitors' scoring.

Provided Haaland is cleared to start after picking up an injury concern during international duty, he's my favorite goalscorer bet in this match.

Soccer Betting FAQ

What is a moneyline bet in soccer?

A moneyline bet is a wager on which team will win the match. Because soccer matches can end in a draw, most moneyline markets include three options: the home team, the away team, or a draw.

What does “draw no bet” mean?

Draw no bet removes the draw as a losing outcome. If the match ends tied, your wager is refunded. If your team wins, the bet wins.

What is a soccer total?

A total is a bet on how many combined goals will be scored in a match. For example, an Over 2.5 Goals bet wins if at least three goals are scored.

What does “both teams to score” mean?

Both Teams to Score, often abbreviated BTTS, is a wager on whether each team will score at least one goal during the match.
