Lakers vs. Warriors Prediction: NBA Cup Picks and Prop Bets (Oct. 30)

Lakers vs. Warriors Top Bets at a Glance
- Lakers -2.5 (-106)
- Stephen Curry Over 24.5 Points (-128)
The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors renew their rivalry Friday night in an NBA Cup matchup at Chase Center.
Los Angeles dominated the first meeting between these teams, but Golden State enters the rematch with some momentum after winning two straight.
Let’s break down our two best bets for tonight’s Lakers-Warriors matchup, including one player prop.

Lakers vs. Warriors NBA Prediction, Picks and Props
Lakers -2.5 (-106)
Spread
The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten off to an excellent start, going 4-1 with a +9.6 average scoring margin through five games.
That includes a dominant performance against the Golden State Warriors on opening night. Los Angeles won that game, 127-105, and led by as many as 35 points. The Lakers shot efficiently while producing 66 points in the paint, and Golden State struggled to generate consistent offense after a 33-point first quarter.
Golden State has responded with consecutive wins over Denver and Minnesota, but its early-season numbers haven't been nearly as strong as Los Angeles'. The Warriors are allowing 119.4 points per game through five contests compared to the Lakers' 113.6, while Los Angeles is scoring 123.2 points per night.
The biggest concern is the status of Luka Doncic, who is dealing with a back issue. Assuming Doncic is available, though, laying only 2.5 points with the team that has been significantly better through the opening week is the way I want to bet this game.
Stephen Curry Over 24.5 Points (-128)
Stephen Curry - Points
Stephen Curry enters tonight averaging 28.8 points per game, comfortably above this 24.5-point prop.
The opener against Los Angeles was a miss for this number, but the circumstances were encouraging. Curry scored 23 points on 7-of-15 shooting despite playing just 21 minutes because the Warriors were getting blown out. He was only two points short of clearing tonight's prop while essentially playing 10 or so fewer minutes than usual.
We also just saw Curry remind everyone of his ceiling. He erupted for a season-high 44 points in Wednesday's 119-114 victory over Minnesota, getting to the line 16 times and making all 16 free throws.
Golden State is also dealing with multiple absences, which should leave Curry with plenty of responsibility as a scorer.
If tonight's game stays significantly closer than the first matchup, Curry should have a much better opportunity to see minutes in the low 30s. With Steph’s early-season average nearly four points above this line, the over is the side I want to be on.

NBA Betting Frequently Asked Questions
What is the point spread in NBA betting?
The point spread is a handicap applied to the favored team to level the playing field. For example, if the Lakers are -6.5 against the Celtics, the Lakers must win by 7 or more points for a bet on them to pay out. A bet on the Celtics wins if Boston wins outright or loses by 6 points or fewer.
What does the moneyline mean in NBA betting?
A moneyline bet is a straight-up wager on which team wins — no spread involved. Odds use American format: a favorite is listed with a minus sign (e.g., -180), meaning a wager of $180 would win $100. An underdog carries a plus sign (e.g., +155), meaning a $100 bet would return $155 profit.
What is an over/under (total) bet in the NBA?
FanDuel will set a projected combined score for both teams. You bet whether the actual total points will go Over or Under that number. For example, if the total is 224.5, an Over bet wins if both teams combine for 225 or more points.
What are NBA player props?
Player prop bets focus on individual statistical performances rather than game outcomes. Common NBA props include points scored, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, steals, and combined stat lines (e.g., Points + Rebounds + Assists). You bet whether the player goes Over or Under the sportsbook's posted line.
