VAL THORENS (2) is back from a break of five-and-a-half months and looks to be right up to the mark following a recent trial win. Ignore the form, and follow the market moves. OUR PINOCCHIO (14) finished ninth last start over 1 ½m at Central Southland Raceway, beaten 110 metres, after a good second at Ascot Park Raceway the run prior. Meets a comparable field, and he can bounce back straight away. CLOVELLY HILL (7) is close to a win after two successive placings, the latest a second over 1 ¼m at Rangiora. Great chance to break through. MONARCH PRINCE (6) could only finish sixth over 1 ?m at Phar Lap Raceway after copping a check mid-race most recently. Open to improvement and he is always a top 4 chance with the right run.
