PUTERE BOY (6) didn't have the best of luck last start when fifth at Rangiora. Recorded a string of wins and placings prior and hasn't missed the top-three in four tries at this circuit and distance, winning twice. Primary contender if things fall his way. MOUTON CADET (3) made it three placings from the last five starts when he finished second in a better performance at this circuit and distance last week. Gets the same draw and the hoof is on the till. Leading hope. WARD LAMON (2) produced a better effort from this barrier last time out when third at Central Southland. Go well again. TEMPO WARRIOR (7) has been tackling stronger company so will enjoy a class drop.
