Verdict

FINAL APPEAL showed plenty to work on when going down only narrowly at Nottingham 2 weeks ago and, very much the type to improve for that initial experience, he's fancied to make a bold bid second time up. Noble Raider is an interesting newcomer however, and confidence behind him in the betting would need to be viewed positively. Blackberry Bold finished just behind the selection at Nottingham and is also considered.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

State-Bred

A horse bred in a particular state and thus eligible to race in restricted state-bred races. These can be anything from maiden races to stakes events.

Blinkers

A hood worn on a horse’s head to limit side vision, which can improve concentration. Blinkers are added or removed to relax a horse or give it more focus.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.
