BRAVE SPIRIT (11) has thrived since joining the Joe Waldron stable, and he was only beaten by a neck as the favourite here 3 weeks ago. This is tougher, but he drops in weight and can go one better. MYSTIC PARK (1) was not far off the winner in the G2 Thorndon Mile at Trentham 3 weeks ago over a mile. He has no problem dropping back to 7f, and he will be hard to hold out here, despite carrying the top weight. TUMUCH (2) failed to cop a heavy track in the Listed Timaru Stakes and finished well back. Don't drop him on a dryer surface in this. CANDYCANE (9) strips fitter after finishing a game fourth fresh up in the same race as the fourth pick. She is well worth including. WITZ END (13) and POUR THE WINE (6) both add to the puzzle in a terrific field.
