Daily Double

A wager on two consecutive races on the card where bettors have to pick both winners.

Bolt

A sudden veering to the inside or outside rail, often caused by the horse spooking or shying from something.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.
