Verdict

CONFESARA (9) was good enough to finish third in G3 company at Ellerslie in her penultimate start, and then won against a good field by a nose there just over 5 weeks ago. She is perfectly placed in this with only half a kilo more to carry, and she is the one to beat again. NANCY SHE WROTE (3) is a very capable mare on her day, and racing in this direction seems to suit her best. She doesn't want it too wet, and she is worth including in all combos to be safe. EL ARISH (5) likes to run along in front, and he was only run down late at Pukekohe last time out, and before that, he was brave in third-place at Matamata. Stick with him on an each-way basis. ZANTABULOUS (1) can't be faulted with her form this season, and she revels in the wet. She has won on this track in the past, and another honest effort can be expected. PEERLESS (2) was out of the money last start at Pukekohe, but was not far off the placings. He was unsuited by the good track, and he can bounce back on a wet surface.
