MISISSIPI GAMBLER (9) has continued to race well in 3 starts since winning her maiden fresh up in late May. She is likely to settle back, and if the tempo is genuine, then she can have the last say in this. SIR FERGUS (12) ran his race in patches at Arawa Park 10 days ago when struggling on the testing heavy track there. He cops a wide gate here, but by the last race it may be a blessing in disguise. He is worth another chance, so follow your money. BORN TO BE ROYAL (11) ended her 3YO campaign in the G1 Oaks at Ellerslie, and she has made progress in a couple of tune-up trials. If she is close enough on the final turn, then she can take this out. HALO'S FIRE (6) should be peaking at the right time for this, and the step up from 6 ½f to 7 ½f is ideal. A top 3 finish is not beyond him. Each way. EVER CHARM (8) is deep into his prep, and though he has not won for some time, he is well worth including in all top 4 combos to be safe.
