Verdict

IMPERIAL ROSE (7) was put aside after being a beaten favourite at Ellerslie in January, probably not coping with the quick backup after her second on debut at Te Aroha 8 days earlier. She looked sharp when winning a recent trial, and she can get her season back on track here. On top. HIGH GOAL (2) won a trial before finishing fourth in a 6-horse field on debut at Tauherenikau when showing pace to lead that day. He will be better for the experience, and he is worth another chance in this. RUPENI (3) ruined his chances fresh up at Matamata by racing greenly throughout 3 weeks ago. He has a tricky gate, but will be a lot trimmer for this assignment, and he is well worth including in all top 4 combos. ZAFAR (6) makes his debut off some good trial form. Opie Bosson rides, and despite copping a nasty gate, he is sure to have plenty of market support. TIMELESS BEAUTY (12) is a stablemate of the fourth pick, and she is also making her debut, but she will have a far superior draw. Each-way.
