SIR FERGUS (7) was less than a length from the winner fresh up at Tauranga, and then may have found 7f a tad too far at Te Aroha last time out. He is worth another chance with a return to this trip. JELLY ROLL (1) is as tough as they come, and since his brave win by a nose at Te Aroha in June, he has finished third twice. Stick with him, especially if the track is heavy. HEY HEY BABY (4) has not won for some time, but she is a genuine mare with top 4 claims in this field. OBERON (6) was not far away in sixth here 3 weeks ago, and he dons the blinkers for the first time. Michael McNab will help to offset the wide gate, and the pair merits healthy respect. Each way.
