GATE CRASHERS (3) needed his first run back from a spell over 1m at Ellerslie nearly 3 weeks ago, and getting straight up to 1 5/16m is a nice step up for this gelding. He can make the most of the good draw, and is expected to finish a lot closer this time, or even win it. ALLACES (8) found the front off a wide gate without too much trouble at Ellerslie fresh up in BM65 company, and held on bravely for a tough win by almost a length. She is likely to adopt similar tactics in this, and with 6lbs less to carry, she will again take some catching. MULAN ARDECHE (9) will find this easier than her last start at Ellerslie, and a return to racing in an anticlockwise direction will also help her. Stick with her on an each-way basis. FINAL REASON (11) got back too far at Ellerslie last time out, and was set an impossible task, so we rule a line through that run. Her efforts prior were good, and she deserves another chance. MERRIAMA (12) finished a brave third of a wide trip last start.
