ASTORIA BROOKE (9) had put together a couple of good runs prior to finishing on strongly from well back for sixth in the Tauranga Classic last week. She drops 7lbs, and Michael McNab, retaining the ride at 119lbs, is always a strong lead. On top. UDERZO (2) finished on late at Ellerslie 2 weeks ago, and though finishing at the rear of the field, he was only 2 lengths from the winner. The extra 1f will suit him, and he has top 3 claims this time. JOSHUA BROWN (1) was back in form with a strong finish for second out wide here 3 weeks ago. He usually holds his form when fit, and another good run can be expected. RUDYARD (8) was unsuited by the WFA conditions and a wide draw at Whanganui last time out, and that run is best overlooked. His third here in early May is the guide to use, and he is worth including in all top 4 combos. DIOMEDES (5) overcame a wide gate to score comfortably down in class at Woodville just over 2 weeks ago, and he is a top 4 chance in this as well.
