EL VIENTO (6) raced well earlier in the season, and he had strengthened up again when resuming here just over 2 weeks ago, finishing runner-up by a nose. He flashed home that day, and with an extra 1f to travel in a similar field, he can go one better. UDERZO (5) has needed his 4 starts back from a spell, and backing up quickly will suit him after finishing sixth here last week. The key this time will be the step up to 1m, and he is ready now to put his best hoof forward. Can win. CLEAT (1) is a lightly tried 8YO gelding who won a nice race fresh up at Te Aroha 5 weeks ago over 5 ¾f. He rises sharply in weight and trip, but he must still be included in all top 4 combos. FINANCIER (7) fought on well enough for fifth here last week, and if the track is not too testing, then he can figure in the top 4 at value. BRIDAL TRAIN (4) is another consistent performer who has been performing well in some good fields. Her stable normally does well when they trek here, so stick with her.
