LE JACQUES CARTIER (13) handy outer but lacked a finish when fresh in a $75k race then led and battled over 6 ½f at Ellerslie. Bounced back with a strong win after sitting outside the leader last time. Has a great record at 6f and placed 2 of 3 starts here. AVANTAGGIA (4) ran on strongly from midfield for a good 2nd to Magice when fresh at Matamata recently. Has won both 2nd-up starts and is a big danger here. MAGICE (1) sat outside the leader and was pushed to the top on the turn and won well 1st-up at Matamata recently. Has won 2nd-up but is 3lbs worse off against Avantaggia here. ZIVOU (17) ran on for 2nd to Avantaggia in April and no luck when held up most of the straight on the synthetic when resuming. Consider. TO CAP IT ALL (2) wasn't a mile away last 3 starts, all in G3 or G1 company last season. Good record first-up and was a solid 4th in a recent trial.
