SAILOR SAM (1) proved himself to be a lot stronger this season when leading all the way to score fresh up by well over 4 lengths. Now that the penny has dropped, he can take the net step immediately. HONOR MISSION (9) has hit the line hard in each of his 2 starts since being bought out of the North Island at the start of the season. She is looking for more ground than a mile, but she can have the last say here. THE COOL ONE (4) will be peaking third up from a spell, and the step up from 6f to 1m is ideal. Expect him to race on the pace, and be among the hardest to beat. GOTA HUNCH (3) finished near the rear of the field last time out, but was only a length from the winner over 7f at Riccarton-synthetic nearly a fortnight ago, and getting back to 1m will suit him. If he gets any sort of run from a nasty gate, then he is well worth keeping safe in any top 4 combos. SHOOTING STRIDE (10) has turned a corner in his last couple of starts, so stick with him.
