WILD WHIZ (1) was in a different class last time with a dominant all-the-way win by a wide margin at this track over 6 ½f. Will prove very tough to beat. SAMJEONG LADY (8) is a promising type who scored at her last run before a break four months ago over 6f at this track. Fitter for a recent trial here. Has good early speed and is good enough to take them all the way. CHOEGANG SPEED (7) recorded a strong maiden win over 6f at this track last time, getting there by 1.3 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Looks well placed, and he should be in the finish again. VICTORY QUEEN (6) was unplaced two runs back, then again missed the frame last start over 6 ½f at this track, finishing seventh. Nicely placed to find some form.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Also Eligible

A horse that is entered but does not draw into the body of the field due to too many entries, and thus is not permitted to start unless there are enough scratches to shrink the field size.

Rabbit

Also known as a pacemaker; this is a horse with no expected chance of winning but is used to prompt a quick pace on the front end of the race to the benefit of a stablemate who is a closer.
