Verdict

BIG MAV (1) is the obvious danger after being beaten just under a length as favourite here on soft ground, and his two wins and two placings from five starts at this track and distance read strongly for this setup. Fitter and look for a big run. KORATORA (6) is knocking on the door after a neck second at Jamestown and has the wet-track record to stay in the argument, though she now rises from picnic grade into a stronger meeting. ZENACITY (4) improved to run third at this venue last start, gets weight relief, and her one win and two placings from three attempts at this track and distance make her a genuine place chance if she builds again. SPORTS CHOICE (11) is in the mix after consecutive seconds, the latest beaten half a length in a BM52 at Manangatang, and that recent consistency gives her a chance despite coming into harder company.
