VELVET GEM (12) returned with a solid third over this trip at Strathalbyn where she sat close to the pace and battled on well. That effort should bring her on nicely and she looks a key chance second-up. PIRATE (2) went forward last start and weakened out over 6 ¾f on soft ground at Strathalbyn. The drop in trip off 49 days in between might suit. Willing to give another go. IDRACOWRA (6) has struggled to threaten of late but does have form that can measure up. Finally draws a low gate and is worth keeping safe.
