Verdict

What a cracking edition indeed. BASSETT BABE (10) gets the nod off a strong run behind the smart Point Barrow, who jumped a $2.60 favourite in the G1 Oakleigh Plate. She's near peak fitness and this has always been a target. TYCOON STAR (1) has always had talent and was unlucky not to score first up in the VRC Sprint Classic. He'll be better for that and should be right there when it matters. MATHEMATICIAN (6) is one of SA's most exciting prospects and gets his chance to put his name up in lights. Unbeaten from two and kept fresh with a tick-over trial. The sticky draw is the only knock. SIGNATURE SCENT (8) rounded them up stylishly here two weeks ago in a strong 3YO BM72. No reason to jump off now. JOB DONE (4) resumes and owns a sharp jumpout win. He's a capable type and belongs in the conversation.
