VINTAGE STAR (6) is edging closer to a breakthrough, with placings at his last two runs. Peaking now and dropping back to a winning trip, he looks well placed to finally get the job done. BRISTLER (7) disappointed last time but had rediscovered some of his best form prior. From the inside alley he should bounce straight to the front and prove very tough to reel in. HOWL (4) has built nicely into this preparation and is going better than his form suggests. If he's close enough at the turn, he can cause a scare late. SKIPJACK (3) resumes for the Stokes camp and is a noted fresh performer. Loves this journey and has jumped out well in readiness. No reason he can't play a major role. THE GREAT BABY (1) didn't fire fresh but is capable of a much stronger showing with that run under his belt. Has been kept fresh and can improve sharply.
