Verdict

BAMYAN BUDDHA (1) is in career-best touch and proved his versatility last start when launching late to just miss a progressive type. The form around him is strong and he keeps the valuable 7lbs claim. He's doing everything right and there's no reason he can't go one better. PRESSER (2) crosses the border after chasing a smart one into fourth at Caulfield. He won't find this as deep and reunites with Holder from a soft draw. Holding his form will take him a long way over a trip he relishes. FLASHING STEEL (7) is going far better than the form guide suggests and is nearing a peak after finishing full of running last start. He'll appreciate the extra ground on the short turnaround and is a genuine winning hope. CHAKADO (6) doesn't win out of turn but got things back on track last time and stays in the mix. ANGRY SKIES (3) is another Victorian visitor who can improve sharply off a forgettable Caulfield return - wary of him charging late.
