AU - Balaklava - Race 2

EMPIRE RULER (1) has fought hard each time to finish third in both of his starts back from a spell, and he should cope with the 7-day back-up for this peak run. He may be looking for further, but King Callow sticks with him, and so do we. SKY DEEL (2) did nothing fresh up from his new stable but needed the run over a trip that was well short of his best. He drops in class, has the winkers on for the first time, and over 1m, he can finish a whole lot closer. Keep safe. LARGS LEGACY (4) has been a very consistent mare and looks to have started this prep off in the same manner as her last when finishing third fresh up at Murray Bridge. She has the pole position and can take this out. LAST WEEKS PAY (5) set the pace off a wide gate last start, and only folded up late, finishing fourth. Similar tactics from a kinder draw on this track would make her very hard to peg back. PRETTY MORSEL (6) has been brave in defeat in her last couple of starts and is overdue to pick up a win.
