Verdict

SIR LOYNE (3) is a four-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Ben Brisbourne barn, formerly with Michael Freedman. He's shown ability above this level in six runs to date and if the new stable are able to go on with that he'll be very hard to beat. HUGHIE (2) was an impressive winner last time over 6f at Casterton, leading throughout and putting 10 lengths on his rivals. Tougher here but goes forward again and has to be greatly respected. BOULDER JACK (4) was well in commission last time but ran below expectations when eighth and beaten 8 lengths over 7f at Echuca. Can roll forward here and bounce back having won two on the bounce prior. MORE HIGHS ON ME (11) is third up and maps well, consider.

Hughie silk

At the latest run favourite, scored a big 10 len win at Casterton on August 9 over 6f on a soft track defeating Symphonite with 154lbs at $2.40. The run before that failed to make an impression, 5th of 10 at Warrnambool on July 23 over 5 ½f, on rain affected going, 12 len behind Queen Christine carrying 121lbs at $11. Most recently couldn't go on with it, 8th of 12 at Echuca on July 24 over 7f, on a wet track, 8 len behind Square Deal carrying 136lbs at $5.50. Before that won by 0.8 len at Wangaratta on July 6 over 6 ½f in the wet defeating King Incanto with 131lbs at $2.90. Certainly worth another chance.
