Verdict

KID DYNAMITE (2) recovered from a slow start to storm home late but just missed when resuming over this course and distance last start. Good second-up performer who only needs to get the start right to be going one better today. WHAT ONCE WAS (9) brought up a well-deserved win last time out when she led all the way and scored with a bit in hand over 4 ?f at Swan Hill. That run came after an eight-week let-up which has obviously done her the world of good. Open to plenty of improvement, so back-to-back is not out of the question. HELLFIRE JESS (7) is back after the three-month spell. Raced just once last prep and scored comfortably over 4 ½f at Mt Gambier. Harder this time but has raced just three times so there is a lot more to come. HAY JOE (4) is first-up off a six-month lay-off. Veteran who struggled last prep but if near his best can be competitive. JUST BOLTS (1) is down in class and draws a far better gate today so watch for sharp improvement at the third run back.
