Verdict

MISSION TAICHI (8) was a tough watch last start after being heavily-backed, held up at a crucial stage when the race was hotting up before charging late to just miss in a three-way photo. If there is a positive out of that run, it is that he'll be better for the run at 1 ¼m and this looks an easier race. ATE IRON (1) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when third over 1 5/16m at Echuca after being prominent from the outset after he produced a huge finish. Looks the main danger. HARRY CAVIAR (4) is third up today. Turned in a better run last time when second, beaten 2.5 lengths, at Echuca over 1m. Settles back early but winds up late. Watch for a big run. SHEZOUS (11) is drawn out but strikes the most suitable race she's been in to date and looks suited at 1 ¼m. MEKA VIBE (7) has been racing consistently, including a last-start third over 7f at Wodonga last weekend. Backing up is a positive and draws well with a claim.

Lining up for just third start. At debut, ran on strongly from last on the turn, 2nd of 8 at Bendigo Mdn-Sw on July 5 over 1m, on heavy track, 2 len behind Jenni Poppins with 131lbs at $5.50. Last start 3rd of 11 at Mildura Mdn-Sw on July 17 over 1 ¼m, on a slow track, head behind Hexed with 131lbs at $2.80. Desperately unlucky last start and strikes the right race to atone.
