FABALOT (1) made a strong return from a layoff in a hurdle (2m) at Warrnambool, finishing 1L second. That run was his first for the Shane Jackson yard and he's trialled since. Has the inside gate and races forward. Should be tough to beat. Ditto stablemate POINT NEPEAN (3), who is a reliable jumper. Unplaced at Stakes level on the flat two starts ago before scoring by a long neck in a hurdle (2m) at Hamilton last start. HIT THE ROAD JACK (4) won twice over hurdles before the break and needed the first-up at Terang on the flat. Steps up plenty in distance, but he's on a 7-day return and can get some of the better money. CASTROFRANCARU (2) may have the measure of CHEROKEE BRAVE (6), but both would need to lift to be winning.
