Verdict

CAVERN (4) resumes gelded and won his only other first-up run when on debut, scoring over 5f at Bendigo. Placed close-up in a recent Caulfield Heath trial and has a soft draw and Radley's handy 4lbs claim. Rates strongly. BEAR CHAMP (2) is a former HK galloper who demolished the Werribee Maidens first-up. Was heavily bet and had come off a 475-day break. Is sure to have come on from that, and should be good enough to manage the wide gate. Feared. OUTER BANKS (3) also got off the mark when resuming from a spell over 5f at Bendigo. It was a big effort from a wide gate, and he's sure to appreciate the longer sprint. Has been kept on the fresh side and has plenty of scope for improvement. FOREVER WITH NED (8) missed a lip in the country, his only run last preparation. Has raced well prior, including a near miss in Maidens at this track. She has been well prepared for her return and has a low barrier, and Nolen is engaged. Keep very safe.
