Verdict

Siding with the resuming AXIOM (4) who has the upside to be winning this. He won narrowly when well backed on debut at Moe, tackling a handy BM64 at Bendigo before a break. This looks an ideal race to kick off in and he should have improved over the spell. LES BRAVES (2) got back at Seymour last time out and struggled to make inroads, disappointing as favourite there having been knocking on the door prior. This should set up better from the inside gate. ASTARI (3) is going well, placing in his past two, sticking on well for second at Geelong last time out in a BM62. He won't need to improve much to be taking this out. SUSSEX DUCHESS (8) resumed with a strong maiden win at Geelong, coming away to score by two lengths. She sets up for every chance again here. SIDELINE (6) was okay fresh and can improve with a lightly raced profile.
