Verdict

REEL RAIDER (9) was no match for an impressive winner last time but still did a good job to finish second. At her top now and gets the blinkers applied to sharpen her up. Big chance. POOR OL' JOHNY RAY (5) was thereabouts last time out when third at Bendigo over 1 ½m, beaten 1.5 lengths. Strips rock-hard fit and doesn't need to improve much to finally get off the mark. CRYSTAL JADE (3) did little here last time over the mile but his two runs prior suggested he was heading the right way. Willing to give another chance with Stanley taking over in the saddle. ITSAGIVEN (8) hasn't been able to live up to market expectation in her last two when a beaten favourite but does shoulder efforts that can measure up. Not dismissing completely.
