Verdict

ARDASHIR (2) stepped up to 1 ?/16m here and relished the stamina test, coming away to win his maiden by 3.5 lengths at his fourth start. He looks a stayer with some promise who can go on with it from a good draw. He goes on top from another 3.5 length maiden winner ROYAL OPTIMISM (3) who is off a short let up here. He was far too good at Geelong as favourite when last seen, he might just give Ardashir the map favours from a wider draw but there's little between them. QUITE THE LASS (6) won well two back and was good again over this route last time in similar company. She'll be up on speed and hard to run down. DEALT (7) got home well enough at Swan Hill last time and has place claims again. MR WATERVILLE (1) could be an improver up in trip.
