Verdict

The form of SHINDY (11) reads well for this, especially the second placing to Accidental Bid, who would have started a hot favourite in last week's G1 SA Derby, back in March. Then ran 2nd to Cushioned, who ran in the G1 Oaks in Adelaide, but disappointed when fourth last time out. Back to Pakenham suits and deserves to be given another chance. MONTESQUIEU (5) is a So You Think gelding who knocked up late at his second run, so he'll be better for that and 1 ¼m looks a suitable progression. SEABORN (7) comes through the same race, beaten a couple of lengths by Montesquieu, so he's got some ground to make up but that was his only outing and as a NH-bred 3YO son of Sea The Stars he looks suited this trip. POOR OL' JOHNY RAY (6) was outclassed in Listed grade last start and only needs to repeat the maiden third placing the start prior to be a factor. AUTUMN DIAMONDS (9) will have come on for two runs at 1m and should appreciate 1 ¼m.
