Verdict

Strong edition of the Geelong Cup. THE EUPHRATES (2) missed a run in the Caulfield Cup where he'd have been a big chance. Very good in fast time winning the Kingston Town then perhaps went too steady when outsprinted in The Metropolitan. Rolls along here for Shinn to try and book his spot in the Melbourne Cup. The internationals go well here and POINT OF LAW (8) is the most intriguing. He's a northern hemisphere 3yo who fourth in a strong G2 at Royal Ascot then won a G3 at Newmarket, showing tactical speed in the small field. Draw makes it tricky but he's got plenty of talent. SMALL FRY (10) comes over for Joseph O'Brien off a win over 2 ¹/16m at York. 2nd to Hopewell Rock at Goodwood prior is strong form. VAUBAN (1) resumes. He goes very well fresh albeit not typically over 1 ½m. He's very interesting with genuine WFA form. LITZDEEL (11) is consistent and will get a soft run but has had a few chances now.
