NORDIC STRIKE (4) ran below expectations last time after being in the firing line on the turn at Caulfield Heath, finishing ninth and beaten 8 lengths starting at $9.50. That was a tougher race than this, though, as was the start prior when he was only narrowly beaten in town. TALKIN' ITALIAN (2) turned in an eye-catching run over 6f at Sandown last time, ridden back before coming home with a powerful run to finish third. Will drift back but is expected to be in the finish again. EETEEDEE (10) finished fourth at this track and distance at her last appearance 11 months ago. Tested in some handy races as a 3YO filly and comes here with definite top three claims. VELLA LONGA (11) showed good early speed over 5 ½f at Seymour last time and went on to salute by half a length. Will be handy despite the tricky draw. Solid claims. IMMORTAL TRIUMPH (5) is a local who is two from two here and won a recent trial on the track, so keep safe.
