STORM AHEAD (12) narrowly gets the nod. He's fresh for this having worked home well to run second at Cranbourne when last seen over 1 ¼m, however the drop back in trip should work fine with some strong runs over this distance range. The map looks good - he can be aggressive to cross and lead without much pressure and from there he'll go close. SUBTLE POWER (10) is another that maps well, likely tagging the speed. Her past two starts have been good, beaten a long neck at Pakenham over 1m last time out when back in trip. Gets every chance here over an ideal distance. QUITE THE LASS (11) ran quite well fresh here over 7 ½f when working home into a narrow sixth. She hasn't won in a while but will be fitter and this trip suits better. CAT NOIR (8) was just fair fresh at Ararat but goes well here and her best form would be very competitive. PENNINE WAY (2) struggled on tough ground fresh and should do much better this time.
