Verdict

MISS DECEIVER (13) returns after four months off. Closed the last campaign with a fifth over 7f at Warrnambool, but it took the VRC Oaks winner to beat her the start prior and there was a lot to like about the way she put her rivals away in her most recent jumpout. CONFLICT (15) also ran well in all runs in the debut prep and has jumped out well. Was also an acceptor in a winnable race at Kyneton on Friday, so if they run here it's a good push for his chances. YULE POINT (9) returned last time with a solid second at Wangaratta over 5 ?f. He'll have come on from that and with the majority of the field either first-up or on debut, the run under the belt could prove crucial. TWO TO TANGO (14) disappointed when well-supported on debut but had trialled well before that, and has again done so since, so warrants another chance. I'M DA BOSS (1) is on debut, but swept home from last to win his latest jumpout which could be good training for this given the wide draw.

Resuming. Finished off last campaign third of 9 at Ballarat Mdn-Sw November 20 over 6f, 3.5 len behind Hi Val with 128lbs at $3.90. On debut second of 8 at Pakenham Mdn-Sw October 17 over 5f, soft track, 0.5 len behind Choir Point with 128lbs at $14. Looks forward enough after a recent trial win. Did little wrong in first prep and jumpouts suggest he's come on from that.

Second-up. First-up after seven months crossed from a wide gate to settle just off the pace but gave ground when 2nd of 14 at Wangaratta Mdn-Sw on February 28 over 5f, 1.5 len behind Ole Daze carrying 130lbs at $3.40. Previously second-up 7th of 11 at this track Mdn-Sw on August 8 over 7 ½f, on a slow track, 6 len behind Hot Too Go carrying 126lbs at $2.80. Made a nice return, which gives him a fitness edge on a few key rivals here.
