LOVE SPARKLES (5) did well to recover from a slow start to finish third at Mildura nearly 2 weeks ago, and she may have to go back anyway in this after copping a wide gate. She slides down in class, and can still figure in the top 3 with the right tow into the race. PHOENICIAN (10) has found it hard to win another race, and was runner-up again at Bairnsdale nearly a month ago. He will be peaking at the right time, and in a field that lacks much depth, he can add to his winning tally. MICKIO (2) was unsuited to being ridden in front last time out in a tougher BM70 field at Seymour last start, and folded up quickly in the run home. He has won here over this trip in the past, and is worth another chance. CALLAWADDA (1) needed his fresh up run, and can improve quickly.
