Verdict

One of a few races hit by scratchings but SEA POEM (1) caught the eye with a strong return at Swan Hill, getting home well for a narrow third in tougher company. Tricky draw but the extra ½f suits and this is a decent drop in class. PROVEN SOUL (15) has just found one better in her past couple of starts and should kick up from the inside gate to take beating. DIVINE THOUGHTS (5) is coming off a synthetic win but can lead and that's worth plenty on this circuit in recent times. The heavy track run at Mornington two back was solid enough to suggest she can get through it. FOREVER WITH NED (11) ploughed through the heavy going at Wangaratta to win well latest and should be staying on strongly again.
