Verdict

NEARCO FROD (1) beat a few of these fairly convincingly last start, given a great ride by Williams who rolled forward and controlled things, coming away to score by 1.75 lengths. He should adopt similar tactics again from the wide gate and can repeat the dose. EMPRESS OF THE SUN (9) was second to Nearco Frod last start but was a $3 hope there and kept trying. She gets every hope from the low gate and staying down in the weights. BLUESTONE (2) was good off a short spell at Sandown Lakeside to grab fourth. He's been a bit frustrating to date but the talent is there. OMAMORI (11) and SHULTZY (10) were 4th and 3rd respectively behind Nearco Frod last time and both are in the mix.
