Verdict

Competitive race. BOSTON ROCKS (6) came down from Sydney and won the Village Stakes very well over this route last start, coming clear to score by 1.75 lengths. It's worth noting Hedged was heavily backed to win the $1 million race at Cranbourne out of the Village Stakes. Boston Rocks sets up ideally from the gate here and can repeat the dose in a similar race. AVIATRESS (5) hit the line strongly first up in the G3 How Now Stakes to grab second. Would've loved her to draw a gate so she could land in the first handful, but she's good enough regardless. MAJOR SHARE (7) is going well, just missing over 5f in the Century Stakes at Flemington and now dropping 6lbs. 5 ½f is fine for him. No idea what to make of VESTAS (11) who was awful in the How Now when well backed, apparently not liking being around horses, which is tough in a horse race. Blinkers on here could be a key gear change, her best is good enough. GRAND LARCENY (10) next best.
