Verdict

Very tough sprint. ALONG THE RIVER (11) might be the default horse to come back to. He'd been racing so consistently and finally found his race last time at Caulfield Heath, winning dominantly in the end with 133lbs. He drops down to 123lbs here, lands in a good spot on the quick turnaround and can do so again. The big query is BUSTLING (1) who is off a 600 day spell. He was touted as an Everest horse when coming over from WA as their star 2yo but clearly had issues and we haven't seen him since September 2024. His latest trial was solid when pushed out, the late betting will be key. CALL TO GLORY (10) resumes with a good little record over the short trips, he's speedy and should give a sight, as can BAZABALL REWARDED (14) who led Bustling in a recent trial and was doing it much easier. Her form last time in was all at Mornington which is worth noting. TRISTATE (4) is another off a very long spell but he absolutely has the class.
