Verdict

Giving SKIPPERS CANYON (5) another chance. He'd been racing so well all preparation until last start when struggling over 1 ½m at Sandown Hillside. They went very slowly there and he didn't have the turn of foot. Back to 1 ¼m might suit a bit better and his form prior reads very well for this. If he doesn't show up, it's a bit of a raffle. FOIRE DE TRONE (15) has won 2/3 this time in, coming home too strongly off a slow speed at Sandown Lakeside to score narrowly when last seen. She gets in very light for Jabez Johnstone whose claim is a goldmine at the moment. SAVOUR THE DREAM (2) won dominantly over this trip at Mornington last time out and a repeat of that sees him hard to beat again. PROMISED LAND (12) steps up in trip fourth up which should suit. He's come back well and looks set to peak now. PERFECT PLAY (3) has been going well in Sydney and looks nicely placed from a good gate up on speed.

Skippers Canyon silk

At the latest run 6th of 9 at Sandown-Hillside Bm84 on June 13 over 1 ½m, slow going 5 len behind Straand Deal carrying 125lbs at $4.40. Before that ran on strongly from last on the turn, 2nd of 9 at this track Bm84 on May 30 over 1 ¼m, on heavy track, long-neck behind Simurgh with 125lbs at $5.50. Can forgive last time - prior form just about wins this.
