Verdict

THE STORYTELLER (3) has been racing well in some of our best hurdle races, which coincidentally have been run on Heavy tracks, which is his preferred track condition. Has a fitness edge on a few here and if he gets another Heavy track he'll prove awfully hard to beat. CAPTAIN ELECTRIC (2) got back into the winner's stall last start, when down in grade, and he's been kept up to the mark with a recent hurdle trial. LODBROK (1) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1 ½m at Swan Hill, beaten 4.5 lengths into fourth but has always looked like he'd relish this trip. NASSAK DIAMOND (4) didn't fire a shot second up but probably needs to be forgiven that after a good fresh run. Went around in the Jericho Cup last year, so distance won't be a problem. SASTERION (7) was a determined maiden winner last time out, scoring by half a length over 1 ?m at Werribee and might be the progressive horse of the race.

Form hard to fault. At the latest run in a small field at Sandown-Lakeside Aust Hdle on May 31 over 2m, on a wet track, 9 len behind Mr Waterville with 149lbs at $3. The race before that won by 1.3 len at Warrnambool Hdle-Swp May 6 over 2m on a heavy track defeating Highland Blaze carrying 143lbs at $3.10. Form has been hard to fault over the jumps and this a suitable reintroduction to flat racing.
