Verdict

ASTERN FIGHT (1) ran a nice race on debut and then dropped back in trip for start No 2, when beaten 2.5 lengths, but by a Stakes-placed horse who looks destined for much bigger things. Just needs luck from the outside alley. PULL MY FINGER (4) would have frustrated connections in that he's run minor placings in 9 of 12 starts, but doesn't know how to run poorly and should be in the firing line again. GINA'S A STAR (7) had been trialling like a start ahead of the first-up run, and while she failed to place after being very well backed, she was beaten less than 1.5 lengths and deserves another chance. PERLAGE (8) looks ready to go after a couple of jumpout wins when she's led all the way but gone to the line with a bit in hand. Looks to have good early speed, so gate one is a big plus.
