Verdict

PACIFIC SOLDIER (9) has been knocking on the door with consecutive placings and again performed well last start when finishing third over 5 ¾f at this venue. With his natural early speed, he maps to secure a favourable position in running, and he looks capable of taking this out. ARAGON PEGASUS (7) does not win out of turn but continues to race consistently, going down by only half a length when runner-up here last time. Another honest effort should see him in the finish once again. ARI (8) has been below his best in recent outings, including a disappointing effort last start, but this assignment looks more suitable and he has the ability to improve sharply. GRIFFIN (3) failed to make an impact most recently but drops into a race where he can be more competitive. A return to his better form would put him firmly in contention. Each way value.
