ZOUSIKA (8) was facing the starter for only the second time when he led all the way to salute over 5f on the outer circuit here last start. Only needs to exhibit further improvement to be right in the thick of things here. SPONARS (4) started at Black Caviar odds and got the job done when resuming in a weak 4 ½f Queanbeyan maiden a fortnight ago. Showed ability last prep and with that confidence booster in the locker he can go on to better things. COOL LAD (3) may have jarred up on the main circuit here last start which would explain the disappointing performance. Veteran sprinter who is cherry ripe now and will enjoy getting the toe in. MAZ KANATA (10) closed well late when resuming over 5f recently. Draws the fence and is more at home out to this sort of trip. MARGIN CALL (2) is back for a second campaign off a five-month break. Model of consistency last prep and a recent trial win here should have him right up to the mark.
