Verdict

PEACE BIRD (3) has not raced since showing good pace to shadow the leader before fighting hard only to go under by a long neck over 6f at Gosford five weeks ago. Progressive filly who maps nicely just behind the speed again and will be tough to hold out. ROSE OF FENWAY (4) returns from a 170-day spell. Beaten narrowly at her last two appearances before being turned out, both over slightly shorter trips than this. Two strong recent trials will have her forward enough to run a big race. Speedy filly ZEPHYR SONG (7) has led for home at both runs this prep in Victoria, tiring to miss the placings last time over this distance at Bendigo. Very fit and will be hard to reel in if able to dictate. MYSTICAL (8) found 4 ½f at Newcastle too sharp when fresh from a short spell five weeks ago. Placed at stakes level second-up last prep so she demands respect. The winner should come from this quartet, with FLYING GISELLE (2) the best of the rest.
