Verdict

Open finish. KA YING CHEER (1) won three on the bounce returning to Australia and hasn't been beaten far in two runs since, only a neck away in a BM84 at Bendigo last time out which reads well coming back in grade here. Don't mind the wide draw for him, if he can land midfield he'll be blending in nicely late. BARBARIC LAD (8) ran a good race first up at Geelong when running on strongly for second. Fitter now, a slight rise in trip and Zahra on from a better draw are all ticks. HARALDUS (9) resumes, now with the McEvoy yard. He's got good ability but has been a bit hit or miss across 10 starts, potentially a horse who has had a few niggles. He's won a jumpout and is certainly good enough on his day. PREVAILED (10) is racing consistently, just being beaten his past two. He'll be up on speed giving a sight.
