SMART ENERGY (1) is the standout with the best winning profile, having won two of six and finishing just 2.5 lengths behind as favourite in a CG CL3 at Ascot last seen. While the ten-month layoff is a concern and his 6 ?f record isn't strong, the 7lbs claim helps and his overall form is solid. TRAILER TRUCK (6) lands here third-up, has a favourable distance profile and his recent form suggesting a return to this trip may enhance his performance after two midfield runs. KAMAKAZI SHOOTER (8) boasts good local form, recently trialled at Albany, and had a tough sixth on heavy ground here before the break. He's more likely to place than win, but his distance and wet-track performance keep him in contention. JELLYBEAN JONES (3) has strong claims if fit, previously beating Brave Apache by two lengths in a BM58+ here, and his Lark Hill trial sets a solid base. Claim of foul lodged by a jockey for perceived dangerous or illegal riding by a rival.

Trifecta

A wager picking the first, second and third horses in the exact order. A trifecta box means paying more to ensure the horses can finish in any order in the top three spots.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.
