Verdict

A race of many chances. MISS FARNAN (5) looks the hardest to beat after her all-the-way win over 5 ½f at Hawkesbury in heavy going last start. This is no harder but a 4kgs spike in the weights is a leveller. Can improve further at just the third run of the prep so another win is on the cards. TOTOKA (8) has failed in a couple of recent 1 ?m races so coming back sharply in trip is not a bad thing. Ran some nice races earlier this prep at the provincials over sprint trips. Might surprise a few. Speedy mare GIRLS WEEKEND (4) led all the way for a decisive win over 6 ?f on the Canberra Acton track recently. Yet to miss the frame in three runs at 6f. Meets a better field today but she will go fast and prove tough to catch. DIACON (6) started favourite when fresh from a spell against Miss Farnan last start but was beaten 2.5 lengths by today's rival. Fitter and can close the gap somewhat. ANARITA (2) is a genuine mare with each-way claims first-up from a seven-month spell.
