SHIRVINGTON (3) resumes for Bjorn Backer and has won 2/3 fresh. Won 2/3 last preparation and has trialled well for his return with race rider Gibbons aboard. Has scope for further improvement and will go close with average luck from the awkward barrier. DON'T DOUBT MERLIN (4) resumed further improved, beaten a neck at Newcastle and then won a 64 comfortably this track/trip. Maps well and carries 8lbs less. Fitter again and will get every chance to go back-to-back. WONDEREACH (1) is good enough and has been racing in much tougher company. Likes to race forward and Nash Rawiller is a positive jockey engagement. Carries top weight but can manage.
