NORDIC VIKING (4) was backed from $3 into $2.40 first-up over 6 ¼f at Canterbury but in a moderately run affair he lacked the change of gears required and was disappointing. Better placed out to this trip and the engagement of Nash is significant. SPICE PRAWN (8) made nice progress last time out when second-up from a spell, closing well to just miss the placings over 6f at Rosehill. Should settle near the lead today over the longer journey with blinkers on. Ready to find peak form. EYNESBURY (1) just missed two back at Gosford then probably should have finished a lot closer at Canterbury most recently. Rock hard fit and ready for another try at seven furlongs. MAIDOFF (3) made it three minor placings from as many appearances this prep when a game second over 6f at Rosehill last start. Always gives his best. SPHERE (7) is another who is racing well without winning. Getting beyond 6f for the first time might be the key.
